Residential Deep Clean Checklist

RESIDENTIAL DEEP CLEAN

GENERAL SERVICES: 

• Dust all return air vents and louvered doors
• Vacuum debris out of each sliding track of each main sliding doors (if applicable), as well as behind all closed doors
• Wipe down doors and sanitize knobs
• Always dust/vacuum behind closed doors
• Spot clean windows and remove smudges; report immediately if maintenance needs to provide a quote to fully clean windows
• Wipe window sills and blinds
• Spot clean and remove marks and gunk from all walls and door frames
• Wipe wall plates/plug covers
• Dust vents on walls and baseboards
• Dust ceiling fans
• Clean light globes and exposed bulbs
• Vacuum, sweep and mop all floors thoroughly
• Empty, clean and sanitize all waste baskets

BEDROOMS: 

• Dust (and clean if necessary) any ceiling fans, light globes or exposed bulbs.
• Remove and replace trash bag, as well as clean and sanitize any waste cans
• Vacuum/sweep/mop and remove debris from under bed
• Remove dust and hair from headboard, bed skirt and throw pillows
• Clean and dust any furniture, look underneath for trash/debris
• Clean mirrors
• Vacuum inside closets
• Clean inside and outside of any slider glass door, as well as tracks of any sliding doors
• Spot clean windows and remove smudges
• Clean all sides of window blinds
• Dust curtain rods
• Dust and/or wipe walls and vents where needed
• Remove cobwebs from corners
• Wipe wall plates/plug covers
• Vacuum, sweep, mop floors
• Wipe/dust baseboards
• Move and clean under rugs and behind furniture

LIVING ROOM: 

• Remove debris and vacuum under couch and its cushions
• Vacuum/sweep/mop floors and rugs
• Dust lamps, furniture and other surfaces
• Spot clean upholstery as needed
• Empty and wipe out all drawers
• Clean inside and outside of any slider glass door, as well as tracks of any sliding doors
• Spot clean windows and remove smudges
• Clean all sides of window blinds
• Dust window sills/ledges
• Vacuum curtains and dust curtain rods
• Wipe/dust baseboards
• Move and clean under rugs and behind furniture

ENTRY WAYS: 

• Vacuum/sweep/mop floors and rugs
• Remove any trash or debris
• Spot clean and remove marks and gunk from all walls and door frames

KITCHEN: 

• Dust and/or wipe walls and vents where needed
• Wipe wall plates/plug covers
• Dust (and clean if necessary) any ceiling fans, light globes or exposed bulbs.
• Wipe out uncluttered areas of cabinets and drawers without removing dishes
• Wipe down front side of door and handles of all cabinets
• Clean, scrub, and sanitize countertops, targeting under appliances and décor as needed
• Clean backsplash
• Clean, scrub and sanitize sink, paying special attention to behind the faucet and spraying mold and mildew remover as needed
• Clean and scrub garbage disposal opening
• Run garbage disposal and ensure it doesn’t smell foul
• If the disposal guard (black plastic piece in the sink) is removable, spray with Tilex and clean
• Clean the inside, outside and underneath (including buttons) of microwave, including glass turning dish
• Empty crumb compartment of toaster and wipe clean
• Clean handle and exterior glass of wine refrigerator (if applicable)
• Empty grounds and filter of coffee maker
• Clean interior of coffee maker by soaking gold replaceable filter or basket
• Sanitize coffee pot and wipe exterior of coffee maker unit
• Ensure the interior of dishwasher is clean and is not smelly
• Clean the exterior of dishwasher and check for and remove any food from the inside drain catcher
• Wipe off all shelves inside refrigerator and front of drawers, as well as the exterior of the refrigerator and its handle
• Clean the seals around the doors of refrigerator to remove mold and food debris
• If the refrigerator is stainless, use stainless cleaner on the outside of the door
• Clean the inside and outside of oven, including wiping down the sides as needed between counters
• Report any lingering smells if noted
• Clean stove top and, if removable, take out the burners and wipe out food debris
• Clean top and underside of range hood and clean/soak range hood vent as needed
• Empty, clean and sanitize all waste baskets
• Vacuum, sweep and mop floor, paying special attention to removing crumbs and debris around the base of cabinets
• Wipe/dust baseboards
• Move and clean under rugs and behind furniture

LAUNDRY ROOM/AREA:

• Dust and/or wipe walls and vents where needed
• Vacuum/sweep/mop floors and rugs
• Wipe down washer; if front load, ensure no mold in seal and leave washer open
• Wipe down dryer and clean out lint trap

BATHROOMS:

• Dust and/or wipe walls and vents where needed
• Clean any shelves and dust knick-knacks and/or any wall décor
• Clean, scrub and sanitize sink and backsplash
• Polish chrome of sink and ensure it is draining properly
• Open all drawers of vanity and wipe out if uncluttered
• Clean vanity top, fronts and faces of doors and drawers, as well as other surfaces
• Dust light fixtures and fans
• Wipe down and clean mirrors
• Clean, scrub and sanitize bathtub and shower, paying special attention to wall shelves and cubbies, wiping under products, and ensuring it drains properly
• Wipe and clean shower glass
• Use mildew root remover in showers/tubs as needed, especially around grout/caulk
• Sanitize shower head and polish chrome
• Wash shower curtain and liner
• Clean and sanitize toilet, including the seat, base and behind it
• Vacuum/sweep/mop floors and rugs

EXTERIOR:

• Clean out the door tracks.
• Wipe off patio furniture
• Report any spots on deck furniture where extra cleaning may be needed
